Amidst all the tiny-tot-tending, not sleeping, and barely surviving the first heatwave of the season without air conditioning, I’m actually planning our trip to the cottage next weekend.
This cottage:
And we’re staying 9 days!!
Planning for me means several things, but mostly it means lists.
Lists work great if you post them someplace where you’ll actually see them every day several times a day. I started several lists about a week ago, and it’s not unusual for me to get up during a pee break in the middle of the night to jot down some pressing item I can’t leave behind on my list in the kitchen.
Because of my lists, we realized we either need to buy/borrow/steal a bigger car, or buy/borrow/steal the crossbars for the roof rack on the existing car so we can fit our stuff. What with two car seats taking up the back seat, and two coolers taking up a lot of space in the trunk, we’ll need some extra space for all the other stuff. Like diapers, toys, towels, baby gear, baby playpen… you know, stuff.
And food. I want to bring my own food, bought from my own familiar stores, rather than end up buying a lot of junk at a convenience store in some forelorn village on the way through.
But we’re getting excited!! Two Pampers boxes are allready full of food items we’ll be bringing along, and a special bag full of “new” toys for the 3yo is safely hidden away.
We’re going on vacation!!

Ohhhhh…. sounds wonderful! Hope you manage to get some R&R in there!
