Foodie Fridays – Homemade Stock

How to make beef or chicken stock


1. Eat a nice meal with meat that has bone in it
2. Put the leftover meat, including bones, in a crockpot, or a soup pot with a lid
3. Add vegetables and/or leftovers (carrots, celery, onion are essentials, add others as you see fit)
3. Add seasoning
4. Add water
5. Bring to boil, then simmer with lid on for hours or overnight (crockpot – put on low)
6. Use in soups, freeze in icecube trays, or freeze in containers



 Tip: if you don’t feel like cooking the stock immediately, throw all ingredients you need for the stock in a large freezer bag (or container), label, and freeze.
