Using good ol’ Rock n’ Roll to parent your kids

My latest attempt  to get my kid to stop asking me for everything incessantly is to sing to him some good ol’ Rock n’ Roll lyrics.

Mick Jagger should re-release this song:

You can’t always get what you waaaaannnnt…

Ben just celebrated his 5th birthday. He got a mountain of new stuff. For some reason, he still feels like he needs more stuff. More toys. More chocolate. More freedom. More, more, more…

You can’t always GET what you waaaannnnnttt….

So I sing these lyrics to him over and over again.

You CAN’T always get what you waaaaannnnttt….

He’s not particularly impressed.

The he said “but you always get what YOU want”.

hahahahahahaahahahaahahaahahaahahahahahahaahahahahahaha

That kid has a LOT to learn!
