I bought these the other day:
We never eat donuts. But I’ve been reading Spenser novels by Robert B. Parker and they eat donuts all the time (they’re supposed to be cop food) so I’ve had a craving lately. Have to say, they tasted so much better than the deepfried crap you get at local fast food places. No comparison.
But I also bought these:
Fiddleheads are rolled-up ferns. They are a delicacy and only available for a short time of the year (kind of like asparagus). Well, the fresh, local stuff is only available now. I’m sure you can buy them frozen or imported. But we are in the midst of a fresh-local movement at the moment, are we not? So I bought some. YUM.
That’s about the extent of the excitement around here lately. Too much going on, not enough time, or energy, to get into it.
