Summer vacation started on Friday at 3:15 pm and it’s been a pretty good start so far. We had tennis lessons, a birthday party, a visit or two, and we set up the backyard pool and a new canopy for shade over the picnic table. Which is where I’m sitting right now typing…this, ladies and gents, is my new office.

Cure to eye-rolling in tweens

I am currently seeking patent for my latest invention, attributed to tweens and their endless eye-rolling activities.

Honestly, is this something they learn in school? Is this a subject they teach in grade 3? How has eye-rolling become such a staple in my sweet child’s life?

A new basement office, a trip to Ikea, and a tart

I dismantled a bed today. Its pieces are now in the van to be driven, along with the girl and her several suitcases, to my parents’ place after hockey on Saturday. She gets to sleep over and I get to redo a little room downstairs that used to function as a guest room.
